Jane met with Bloomy today to discuss changing out these bike lanes for stroller lanes. "Can we get a lane where the toddlers of this great city can stroll freely, without fearing collisions from bicycles and pedestrians," said Jane.

We Got Jane & Georgia Their 1st Electric Guitars

Alli and I went to the 3rd Annual Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls Rock N Roll Auction (yes that was really the entire name of the event). It raises $ for their non-profit that teaches young girls how to play in rock bands. We bid on 2 guitars in the live auction and won them both. You can see pics below. 1 guitar was from that Volkswagen promotion where u could plug the guitar into the car. And the other is an awesome Daisy Rock Rebel Rockit Red Heart model. That one is also signed by the artists who performed that night: MeSheel Ndegeocello, Erin McKeown (our fav), Jennifer O'Connor and Murray Hill.

You can see the guitar in action in these vids:

Thanksgiving in Miami, Part 2: The Plague

Alli finally has her own camera, so this album is courtesy of her. In case u hadn't heard, Jane & Georgia got the stomach flu on the 1st day we were in Miami. By the time we left, over 30 people had it...probably via a certain turkey carver who was unknowingly infected.

36 Hour Break

This weekend Alli and I got our 1st night off in a year. We stayed with our friends Aimee and Steve (you guys rock!) at their B&B, the Villa at Saugerties. We also, found a great sub shop in Kingston thanks to roadfood.com

More importantly, Aunt Sammy and Uncle Marshall stayed in Brooklyn with the girls and they all had a great time. Apparently, the girls didn't even care that we were gone. So I'm going back to work on Monday and leaving them home. Here are a few photos....

Let's Vote!

Well, even though we had to wait in line, it was only about an hour. Georgia watched some Yo Gabba Gabba to pass the time and Jane was talking about "paying money for cards" (i think she wanted to buy some votes or something). Anyway, you saw it here 1st...

Jane Tells DJ Lance, "Awesome!", Gives TWO Hi-Fives

Today, we met up with Burke and LuLu Hanlon at the New York Times Great Read at Columbia University. After showing the kids where mom n dad went to school, it was time to party with DJ Lance and Brobee from Yo Gabba Gabba. The girls were dressed in their YGG hoodies. Georgia was Foofa and Jane was Brobee. It was a great show. And the girls were so cute that the event publicist asked to take their picture with DJ Lance and Brobee. Jane told DJ Lance that he was "awesome!" and gave him 2 hi-fives. Georgia didnt even make it to the table cause people in character costumes freak her out (remember the Stew Leonard chicken?!). She said later that she only likes "little Brobee" on the TV and that shes "scared of big brobee". Later that night, after Uncle Jordan's dinner at Carmine's, we all came home and Jane used the potty for the 1st time ever. Needless to say, huge poop. Then, got up and made 3 more little piles on the kitchen floor.
So, put down 10-5-08 as a banner day in the UngerTwin biography.

Yo Gabba Gabba Season 2 Premieres Monday!

For those of you, like myself, who've seen all 20 episodes of season 1 49 times (no joke), you understand how amazing it is that there will actually be MORE episodes. Tune in with us Monday, 9/21 at 11:30 am on NICK jr. Really hoping it doesn't jump the shark...then again, i don't know if that's possible with this show.

TRADER JOES BROOKLYN TO OPEN SEPT 26!

Jane and Georgia are very "SIGHTED!", as Jane and Hammy would say, about the opening of Trader Joe's...RIGHT down the street from us. Word was that it was delayed until Spring 09, but the culinary gods threw some lightning bolts down and it's less than 10 days away.

This also means that we will never have to shop at Key Foods again...the worst grocery store in the history of the universe.

So now let's look back at some Trader Joe's memories...

Our Trip to the West Coast

Jane & Georgia just returned from a 10-day West Coast tour. With a huge entourage in tow (thank u LuLu, PoTart, Raba, Papo, Hammy, Marma, Saschy, Micky), they tasted many famed foods...from a Napa Valley Taylor's Refresher Mint-Chip Shake to the "Holy Sh*t" Peaches of the Pike Place Market in Seattle. They mingled with Sting Rays, Frogs, Crabs, Dogs, Birds and Salmon. And they made many friends along the way...from Baci, the Shapiros dog to T, the well-mannered bar keep at the Farley Bar at Cavallo Point. Jane says he makes the best glass of ice West of the Mississippi (the East Coast prize goes to Marshall at Tailor). Lastly, they pulled into Calistoga, California for Chrissy and Alex's wedding, where they wowed sunbathers with their snacking skills and bare buttocks.

* HOT STUFF *

As you may know, Alli is quite fond of buffalo wing sauce. Her usual preference is the classic Frank's Hot Sauce. But every now and then, she can be found swigging an Original Anchor Bar Hot or a Louisiana's Pure Crystal. Well, this morning Jane found a miniature Tabasco bottle in her purse and decided to pop the top and drink it. She's had the hiccups all morning, but other than that (and a nice mild rash on one cheek) she doesn't seem to mind the heat too much. I guess she likes it spicy too.

Jane also prefers Amstel to Corona:

Jane Blows Bubbles

The MTA's transit Museum is probably the only museum in the world geared towards kids that doesn't have an elevator for strollers. And their full-scale model of a city bus has real gum on the floor! It makes sense that since the MTA sucks, that their museum would too.
